Myths of environment and nature

I have been collecting a lot of material on the concepts of nature, human nature, and associated biases, myths, and prevalent models incorporating them. You can expect some polished material to read from me in future.

For now (thanks to Darios for the link) here’s an article relevant to these questions.

Confessions of a recovering environmentalist

This is a very interesting read on utilitarian and politicized forms of environmentalism as disconnection from nature instead of integration with it; nature with no place for poetry or spirit or humans as part of it. There are no policy prescriptions, it is offered for reflection.

The comments on the article illustrate his point, sadly. He tells stories hearkening back to the nature of the poets and the druids and children on a hike, and they see political campaigns, managerial challenges and scientific technicalities.
